Patience

Zeus had the patience of Job, and he proved it time and time again.  He endured grandkids, kids, giving rides to little ones, a puppy who just wanted to snuggle, and so much more.  But he was always so good with everyone.  He instinctively knew when he had to be especially gentle with babies and special needs kids.  He gave licks and leans, headbutts and tail thumps.

One of my favorite things was when I would lay down and take a nap at Mom and Dad's, I would always wake up with Zeus' head or paw on my leg.  I thought it was him letting me know that he was there and that he loved me.  What I am sure he also knew is how much I loved him, too.

Good boy, Zeus.

My memories

I've met a lot of dogs in my life, but Zeus was one of the absolute best ever. He got a "second chance" at life with Lynn, Craig, and their family, and what a beloved dog he was!! I always enjoyed letting him out during the day if Lynn and Craig were traveling. He'd run out, do his business as fast as he could, and then come running back into the kitchen for his treat! No, Lynn and Craig never spoiled him :) Zeus was always so fun to watch during the holidays, as he just loved being around everyone and always hoped for a pet or a treat!

He lived far longer than he was supposed to, and that is entirely due to his bravery and Lynn's family's compassion and wonderful care. It was an honor knowing Zeus!

New Blog for Zeus

I am in the process of creating a blog for Zeus. I would like to gather everyone's memories and pictures of him, and then make it into a book. Dad and I miss him terribly, and unlike Duffy, we never kept a scrapbook or anything about Zeus' life. So... this will be it.

If you got the invitation from me, you are able to post here yourself.

Please do! It will mean a lot to us.
